03A·AI Advisory & Integration
AI is easy to demo and hard to ship. This service works at the second half.
I start with the question you actually have, does this AI use case hold up, and is it worth building, and only then do the engineers integrate it. Advisory is a short engagement on its own. If a build follows, it starts from the answer, not from a fresh brief.

What ships
The artifacts you get back.
- →A written read on your AI use case, does it hold, what will it cost to prove, where will it break
- →A ranked list of candidate use cases when you have more than one on the table
- →A short prototype where the answer is not obvious without one
- →When the answer is yes: retrieval, agents, extraction, drafting, or classification, integrated into the app that will actually call it
- →An evaluation harness so a good day one does not silently become a bad day thirty
- →Guardrails: PII redaction, prompt injection defenses, rate limits, audit log
- →Production deployment on your infra
The sprint shape
How the engagement runs.
- 01Scoping callOne 45-minute call. I take in the use case, your data, your users, and what you are actually trying to move.
- 02Advisory readOne to two weeks. The engineers evaluate the use case: data readiness, model fit, expected quality ceiling, and cost. Written, defensible.
- 03DecideYou get a straight answer, build, prototype, or don't. If don't, the engagement ends here. That is a win too.
- 04BuildWhen the answer is build: a vertical slice by end of week two, an eval harness, iteration against a real metric.
- 05Deploy & hand offInto your infra. Docs, runbook, on-call cheat sheet. I don't schedule this team as a permanent dependency.
Typical duration
1 - 6 weeks
How it's scoped
One 45-minute scoping call. I name the outcome, the shape, and the fee on that call. Written SOW within 48 hours.
Not in this engagement
Explicitly out of scope.
- Foundation-model training from scratch
- GPU procurement or on-prem model hosting
- Long-term SRE / on-call for the deployed service
- Data collection, labeling, or annotation programs
Common questions
FAQ.
- Can we hire you for just the advisory part, without the build?
- Yes. About a third of advisory engagements end with a written recommendation and no build, sometimes because the answer is no, sometimes because the client wants their own team to build. Both are fine.
- What models do you work with?
- The engineers are model-agnostic. Anthropic Claude, OpenAI GPT-family, Google Gemini, Mistral, Llama variants, open-source retrievers. They pick the model that hits the quality metric fastest and cheapest, and build the abstraction so you can swap later.
- What if we already tried something and it didn't work?
- That is often the most useful starting point. Bring the notebook, the eval numbers, the failure modes. Advisory engagements that begin with a real prior attempt usually finish faster.
- Do you take equity in place of fees?
- No. Fixed cash engagements only. Keeps the incentives on shipping, not on your cap table.
- Who owns the model weights, prompts, and code?
- You do. Everything ships to a repo you own from day one. GoAlgo retains no exclusive rights to anything client-specific.
