03D·Architecture Review
A senior second opinion on the system you are about to build. Or the one already burning.
A short, deliberate review of an architecture, proposed or in production. We tell you where it will bend, where it will break, what to change first, and what is fine as-is.

What we ship
The artifacts we hand back.
- →A written review document, findings, severity, recommendations, in plain language your team and your leadership can both read
- →A ranked list: what to change this quarter, what to change next, what to leave alone
- →A read-out session with your engineering leaders, questions, pushback, live discussion
- →A follow-up session two weeks later to answer questions that surfaced after the read-out
The sprint shape
How the engagement runs.
- 01IntakeOne 45-minute call. We understand the system, the team, and what specifically you are worried about.
- 02ReadDiagrams, ADRs, key repos, deploy pipelines, incident notes. We read before we opine.
- 03InterviewsThree to five 30-minute conversations with the people closest to the code. Where the docs and the reality diverge is often the most useful signal.
- 04WriteA single document. Findings, severity, and specific recommendations. Not a slide deck.
- 05Read-outOne session with your team and leadership. We defend every finding.
- 06Follow-upTwo weeks later, one more session for the questions that only surface after you sit with the recommendations.
Typical duration
1 - 2 weeks
How we scope
One 45-minute scoping call. We name the outcome, the shape, and the fee on that call. Written SOW within 48 hours.
Not in this engagement
Explicitly out of scope.
- Implementing the recommended changes (that is a build engagement)
- Vendor selection or procurement paperwork
- Long-term retained advisor role
- Rubber-stamp reviews to satisfy a board or an investor
Common questions
FAQ.
- What kinds of systems do you review?
- AI-heavy systems (retrieval, agents, evals, model routing). SaaS backends (data model, service boundaries, background jobs, multi-tenancy). Data platforms (ingestion, warehouse, orchestration). We say no to areas we are not senior in, mobile-native, embedded, hard real-time.
- Do you sign an NDA before we send you the docs?
- Yes. Mutual NDA is signed before any material is shared. We keep the material only for the length of the engagement and delete on request.
- What does the final document look like?
- One document, sectioned by findings. Each finding has: what we saw, why it matters, severity, and one or two specific recommendations. No page-count padding, no template.
- Will you tell us what we want to hear?
- No. The value of the review is that we tell you what we actually think. If everything is fine, we will say so, and the engagement ends short. That has happened.
- Can this lead into a build engagement?
- Sometimes. It is not the goal. If a review points at work we would be well suited to do, we will say so, and equally, we will name partners who are better suited when they are.
